CONCERT POSTER/CD PACKAGE
For Lady Sovereign’s album “Virtically Challenged”

Lady Sovereign is a female white rapper from England, UK. She is a young and rebellious girl who survivs in the tough male
dominated rap industries. Through an intense study of rap music, I developed a set of parallel ideas, including velocity,
rebellion, randomness and feminism. These intertwining ideas are not only the essence of her music but also reflect her
personality.

The paper case of the CD package is designed with a big red cross to imitate a lock. The opening is made diagonally.
Once you unlock the case, a list of printed items is released to surprise the viewer.
These items include cigarettes, tobacco, ashes, matches, beer bottles, roaches, and broken mirror.
These visually-vibrating items appear to be randomly organized to illustrate her chaotic lifestyle,
but at the same time handwritten lyrics are printed on the back of these items to counterbalance the graphics
– Even though she is rebellious, she still organizes herself into rap music disciplines.
